Aggressive criminal defense representation.

Joseph Pate attended Emory University for his undergraduate studies, obtaining a B.A. with a double major in History and Sociology with a minor in Violence Studies. During his undergraduate studies, he interned at the Dekalb Historical Society creating databases for various historic court logs dating back to the early 1800's, tracing patterns of criminal court cases. Joe also dedicated his time to the community volunteering at the Georgia Indigent Defense Council assisting attorneys by meeting with clients at state hospitals who had been found incompetent to stand trial and not guilty by reason of insanity.

He continued his education by pursuing his law degree at the University of Miami School of Law. During his time at law school, Joe interned at a worker's compensation law firm and also worked with a Sports and Entertainment Agency, Revolution Sports. He continued to demonstrate passion for his community while in Miami by becoming an assistant football coach for Coral Gables High School. Joe began his career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit and tried felony and misdemeanor cases in both adult and juvenile courts, ranging from simple trespass to punishable by life felonies. Recently Joe and his family relocated, but he continues to work with Compass Law in an Of-Counsel position.
