New Year, New You

By: Sara Canepa-Zenuni, Esquire

New year, new you. As we look back on 2018 and everything it had to offer, what comes into perspective? As we move forward into the new year with “family” on our minds, we begin to think of fresh starts to the year that can benefit our families.

Things such as being intentionally present, eating healthier, exercising, and organizing are all but a short laundry list of new year’s resolutions for this upcoming year. Can improvement in these areas help your family as well?

Being intentionally present. In a technology filled world, it can be hard to “disconnect,” and be truly present with a significant other, friend, or child. Many people feel cared for and heard when they spend quality time with another person. Being intentionally present this year could mean reducing the amount of technology used and focusing on one-on-one quality time.

Eating healthier and exercising. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the most common cause of death for women and men in the United States. There are several ways we can help keep our hearts healthy. Things such as having a well-balanced diet and staying active are steps towards having a healthier heart and, hopefully, living a long life next to your loved ones. Eating healthier and exercising this year could mean investing in our future health.

Organizing. Organization can encompass every area of your life. In order to follow through with plans such as eating healthier and exercising, there needs to be a structured plan in place. Organizing your thoughts, meals, home, work, and exercising routine, are all a step in the right direction with following through with goals. Organization this year could mean having a plan to achieve the goals set out for 2019.

We encourage you to take steps in structuring this new year to benefit your family and your individual needs. Here at Compass Law, we wish everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.
